: AOPA announces Airport Watch program to national audience in Washington, D.C. |

Mar. 4 — AOPA formally unveiled its
Airport Watch program today during a Washington, D.C., press conference attended by the major national news media. The joint press conference featured AOPA President Phil Boyer and Adm. James M. Loy, administrator of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Also speaking was Rep. James Oberstar (D-Minn.), the ranking minority member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
Designed to enhance security at general aviation airports, AOPA's Airport Watch is patterned after the highly successful neighborhood watch anti-crime programs, which call on community members to note and report suspicious activity. Some 700,000 pilots and airport workers are being asked to participate in Airport Watch programs at 5,000 GA airports.

Hi Folks ...
It's Mid-December already - Doesn't time fly when you're having fun!? .. Just a
few words about USAPILOT.COM and to thank those of you who have joined our community. I recently
updated the chat engine and sat for two hours talking to a few of you guys; It
would be great to set up a scheduled "FLY-IN - CHAT-IN", or whatever .. Let me
know what you think!! Don't forget the offer, to post your
pictures on the site - You all know what I look like; I want to see you,
what you fly and where you fly .. Wait isn't that the FAA .. just kidding!!! ..
Also, don't forget the
Forum -
CJC and other aviation professionals are there to answer all your questions.
Maybe you could make them real tough and we can watch them squirm .. hehe!!

Hello, Hello!! ....
Just keeping you
up-to-date with the website. I have included a new "User Info" block
located bottom right of the page (I'm sure you're seen it). The cool thing
is, you can see who's online .. neat, huh!? Thanks for feedback on my MS
Excel based Logbook - I have updated it so that it now has 10 pages and the
totals carry-forward - Check it out, it's in downloads! Have you tried the
WebChat yet!? .. You know you should! :-) That about wraps it for now ..
Don't forget the forum - You'll need to sign up but it's worth it!!

If you're reading this, we have
successfully upgraded the site to our new Web Hosting Service - YAY! In
addition, you will now find that the Web Chat has been fixed - YAY again!!
Some Users however, may have to re-register as the database didn't merge
